So this stitch is a variation of the traditional SC. I’m sure that it has an official stitch name and many of you know about it, however I like to call it “hop single crochet”. Now why Hop single crochet? Sounds like a cool thing right?!? Well its a stitch that will take a long time, but it will be a magnificent piece of crochet, simple but elegant!
So to start, do you know how to do a Single Crochet? – Yarn over and put through desired stitch/chain from front to back, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch, yarn over again, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook. YAY Single Crochet Complete!
Now for the hop single crochet, now it gets fun!!!! Its quite similar to the traditional single crochet however it varies at the end.
Yarn over and put through the base of the SC that was just made, from front to back, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch, yarn over and put through the next stitch, from front to back, yarn over again, draw yarn through all 3 loops on hook. TAA-DAAAA you have the HOP SINGLE CROCHET!!!
Now this stitch has to have a regular old single crochet at the beginning to act as the ROCK STITCH.
Here’s a close up of the Stitch.
Hopefully you make some sweet looking Hop Single Crochet Blankets!
